PASTOR ARRESTED FOR INDECENT ASSAULT

A 36 year old Mwalunguz living waters based pastor has been imprisoned to four years imprisonment with hard labour for fouly assaulting a 12 year old in mzimba 

While there, the pastor in question told the victim that she had a certain problem which needed to be prayed for separately after the service and she was advised to come the following day at his house.

He told her to undress herself before he spraying some liquid thought to be anointing water on her private parts which he said was aimed at cleansing her. After doing this, the pastor told her to hug him as he kissed and caressed her seductively a thing he allegedly did twice.

“When she went home, the victim revealed the ordeal to her relatives who encouraged her to report to police which led to the arrest of the suspect,” police said.

The cout with through the state prosecutor, chisomo Walani, confirmed that the pastor assaulted while she was alone at home and the pastor pretened to come over for some prayers.

It was further clarified that the pastor promisd her snacks and clothes to shutt her mouth.

She then reported the issue right after her parents came back , who then went to mzimba police to report the issue. 

Appealing before the court, pastor Mwala Katsoni pleaded not guilty of all the charges against him and said he was in absence from the scene.

Police have since condemned the act as it defeats government’s and other stakeholders’ efforts in advancing rights and protection of women and girls.

Chairperson for District Council, Dan Nkosi has made it clear that these kind of acts are the ones that are bringing girl child development down where they being assaulted instead of them learning to build themselves.

''Some pastors hide through the shed of being pastors while they are the snakes in the glass for they are the ones prohibiting these acts and also are doing them'' Nkosi added.
